Mua Chi from Restuarant 555

This is one snack you need to taste from hawkers, its called Mua Chi.  Its made from flour or glutinous rice flour cooked in boiling water then rolled on peanut powder and sometimes with  sesame.  Firs time we taste this local delicacy in Petaling Street also known as China town in Kuala Lumpur.

There's one famous old lady there that usually sells this staff, i forgot her name but you can easily find here right in the middly just opposite the vendor of Tau Fufa vendor.  If not she is just around there.

She have some variety of flavors, you should try all to know which one is your favorite.  The one in the picture from a different place but taste is very close.  The picture below is from Restaurant 555 located in Bukit Tinggi Area very near to Giant Supermarket.

Mua Chi

The owners of the shop are two old couples the first time I bought from them I had the hard time as the Old lady doesn't know how to speak English and my Bahasa Melayu is still very rusty and the worst thing is I don't know its name! hahaha Actually for my first time I ordered the wrong thing,  but after that lesson learned.  I try to tell the story of that one next time.

Anyway if you are in Malaysia or Singapore, try to find this on the side streets or from hawkers its a very nice treat, it almost the same with Philippines version of "Palitaw".

Do you like waffles?

This is one of my favorite breakfast, I can still remember when i was a kid my parents would make this during weekend for our breakfast.  Nothing fancy usually the ingredients are basic:

Maya pancake (i think 200 or 250 grams)
1 Egg
Melted Margarine (maybe 2 tbsp)
1 Glass of milk, this is from powdered milk Nido or Klim.. hahaha as during this time fresh milk is still expensive.

Mixed them together in a bowl then cook on a hot pan, with margarine as its oil.

After cooking, since we don't have maple syrup back then, we put more margarine and some sugar on top..
thats it! :)  yummy... was already happy during that time.

Anyway back to present , in one of our trips to Kuala Lumpur we had some snack in the food court of KLCC, and we found this wonderful waffle with fruits and ice cream!

This was a truely nice snack.  I wish I could post more pics but the some of our pictures is still in the other pc.  Hopefully I'll be able to upload it soon.

Do you like waffles also?

Hello everyone! Welcome to my very first post on foodtripmalaysia.bloggers.com I’ll not be posting about my food adventures here in Malaysia but more of introduction of myself.

I have been working in the Philippines for more than a decade, and somehow a good salary always evades me.  So I tried my luck on a far away land together with my family at least we’ll be able to get two birds in one stone, work the way I like and travel and enjoy the cultures and beauty of other countries.

In this blog as the title says, Food Trip Malaysia, I’ll be talking about my or our adventures as a family as we eat and taste the food that Malaysia brings from three (3) different ethnicity Chinese, Indian and Malay.
